On Designing Your Own Tattoos

Tattoos are an ancient body art that had its heydays before tattooing nearly died out. Lately tattooing has seen a surge in popularity with people from all walks of life becoming tattoo fans.

There are now incredible and amazing varieties of tattoos to choose from. It is therefore high time for you to design your own tattoo. For designing your own tattoo do not hesitate to be bold in your experimentation. Do not be afraid to merge different designs to create your own unique style. For instance one of the oldest tattoos are the star tattoos. You can combine star with plants and flowers to create your own design.

Unless you are lucky, you will be rather disappointed with the stock of tattoos displayed in online galleries. Very few have the originality you are looking for. You will be met with the same butterfly tattoos and animal tattoos. You will get an original insight only when you stay away from the tried, tested and the clichéd. And for inking one’s name is all too common.

To design a tattoo you must first think about what you want to say. If it is a message of peace, then think about the dove and how you should combine it other symbols to make your own unique statement. Remember a picture is worth a thousands words.

A tattoo will differ depending on the area of the body it is inked. It must also carry a symbolic meaning. To make a tattoo design you don’t have to be great at drawing. You just have to be good at thinking up original designs. The drawing can be left to a friend who is good at it. You can also hire professional artists to draw for you. They will draw exactly as you tell them.

The web may not be great at giving you good designs off the shelf but they are good enough to inspire in you some original thoughts. Therefore browse the web as thoroughly as possible.
